Rocky is a 3-year-old Miniature Yorkshire Terrier (turning 4 on May 25th) who is looking for a new home. His family has decided to rehome him to someone who can meet his needs long-term. While Rocky is an affectionate and loving companion, he requires a home that is fully prepared for his care, training, and ongoing medical expenses.

We understand that Rocky is a cute little dog, and many people will be drawn in by his photos. However, he has specific medical and behavioral requirements, and we strongly urge anyone considering adoption to read his full description and only apply if they are genuinely prepared to meet his needs.
๐ถ About Rocky:
โ Breed: Miniature Yorkshire Terrier
โ Age: 3 years (turning 4 in May)
โ Neutered: No โ an attempt was made, but he was found to have possible cryptorchidism (one testicle not descended)
โ Microchipped & Fully Vaccinated
โ House-trained & Obedient: Rocky is fully housetrained and was quick to learn commands like sit, settle, paw, and drop. He attended puppy training and has never been destructive in the home.

๐พ Affectionate & Loyal: Rocky loves people and enjoys cuddling with those he trusts.
๐พ Great with Older Kids: Best suited for families with children over 10 years old.
๐พ Friendly with Familiar Dogs: Rocky enjoys being around other dogs he knows and could benefit from a home with a calm, friendly companion.
๐พ Well-behaved at the Vet & Groomers: He remains calm and cooperative during vet visits and grooming.
๐พ Intelligent & Quick Learner: He picks up training quickly and loves being engaged with his people.
โ Challenges & Considerations:
๐ Separation Anxiety (Requires Medication): Rocky had severe separation anxiety as a puppy but is now managed with medication (Reconcile) and training. His new home must be able to continue this ongoing medication, which is an additional expense.
๐ Lead Reactivity: Rocky can be nervous and barky around unfamiliar dogs while on a lead, possibly due to past negative experiences (he was bitten twice by other dogs). However, he does not show reactivity off-lead in parks, his home, or at his pet sitterโs.
๐ Medical History: He fully recovered from hip surgery (Femoral Head Ostectomy) in December 2024 and is now pain-free.
